Best Of You

It’s one of my all time favourite Foo Fighters songs, and it’s safe to say that no artist covering it has ever come close to the power behind the original – that is, until now. Hello, Anastacia.

For those of you who haven’t heard of Anastacia, she’s an American vocalist who is suddenly forcing her way back into the public eye with what can only be described as a heated vigour. After success with several albums, culminating in a world tour to support her self-titled third release, she seemingly disappeared from the face of the earth. With no twitter account and a less-than-active website, she seemed to be heading the way of other artists who haven’t been able to pull themselves back into the spotlight after thinking they were famous enough to leave it a while before making any attempt to connect with fans again. Now, 8 years and a flop entitled Heavy Rotation later, she seems to be taking things seriously again, with two albums scheduled for release in the near future.

The first album, entitled It’s A Man’s World, will be released within a few months, featuring a tracklist of only cover songs. Her next album, yet to be titled, will be hitting shelves not long after (don’t want to make that mistake again, do we?). After a successful release of promotional single What Can We Do (Deeper Love), which can be heard on Skoda’s most recent advert, the Little Lady With The Big Voice has released the first official single from her upcoming ‘Man’s World‘ album – and that’s where Best Of You comes into the mix.

With an outstandingly professional video and vocals that make other female powerhouses like Demi Lovato sound like a drowning cat, Anastacia’s Best Of You is sure to chart well in Austria, Germany and Switzerland – currently its only countries of release. For the rest of us… well, we’ll have to wait for the entire album to be released to get our ears around those trademark vocals. But until then, you can check out the video below to see what all the fuss is about!
